Eligibility criteria
The eligibility criteria for the grant is as follows (Section 9.2 of HPWH Grants scheme Protocols Document):
a) The installation of the system will be completed by 30 June 2013; and
b) The installation will be at an occupied residential property or a property under construction, which is the Homeowners primary residence in New Zealand. To be clear, grants are not available for installations in holiday homes, business properties or other property which is not the Homeowner's primary residence; and
c) Cash back grants can only be paid to Homeowners. Landlords, builders, developers, councils or similar entities are not permitted to apply for cash back grants on properties they own as part of a business practice.
d) The installed Registered System is new, and not a second hand system or a re-conditioned system; and
e) The Heat pump water heater (HPWH) system is a Registered System as published on the ENERGYWISE™ website at the date of sale.
f) There has been no other grant paid from an EECA scheme for a water heating system for the same property, and
g) A Licensed Plumber with a current registration - (go to www2.pgdb.co.nz/PGDB/PublicRegister.aspx to check if they hold a current licence) was used in the installation process which was in accordance with the installation requirements in Section 11; and
h) The Homeowner obtained a Building Consent (where required) prior to work beginning.
